Created using hot, pigmented wax applied to a panel or canvas. Layers of wax are applied to create depth and translucency and then fused with heat. Mixed media works often include a combination wax, oil, ink, or papers.
Photoencaustic pieces; digitally manipulated images mounted on panels and wax added, sometimes enhanced with oils.
I love the vibrancy and transparency of both ink and watercolor. Watercolor can be challenging, but the effects of light on transparent pigments are worth the effort.
Works in India and alcohol inks on synthetic paper. Similar translucency to watercolor but a whole different set of challenges.
